Just some pictures of Sharlene

Caleb's birthday

I attended my best buddy's 3rd birthday party on 25th October. See how both of us enjoyed ourselves with the food and kiddy rides.Poor mei mei, she is too young to go out, so she stayed at home with Wai Po.

Sean & Sharlene

How Sean reacted with Sharlene around?

The initial days Sean tends to get more scolding from us mainly because he always wanted to disturb his "mei mei", after we had tried so hard in making her to sleep.

The first few days of Sharlene's arrival we do notice that there are some behaviour changes in Sean. He tends to behave badly (Eg: Throwing his mei mei's mitten under the bed/chairs,purposely do things that we say no etc, talking extremely loud to wake his sister up etc).

We felt that he was trying to seek our attention, as since Sharlene is here we tend to spend more time on the gal. Please don't misunderstand, not that we don't love Sean, just that he is more independant comparing to her baby sister so we tend to spend more time on her. On top of that recently we also seems to say alot of No or Don't to Sean. Like "Sean don't do this", "Sean no not so rough" etc....because Sean at times can be quite rough to the baby.

But overall he still loves his sister alot. No doubt about it. He will kiss her everyday without fail.We can tell that he always want to play with her despite the fact that the sister can not be bothered and choose to sleep most of the time.Due to the lack of response from the sister so Sean will just choose to lie down on the bed next to her, share his bed or snuggler under Sharlene's blanket together with her. We ever jokingly told him that we gave the baby away and he is very upset about it.

Now that Sharlene is with us for few weeks, Sean's bad behavior has improve. He is more or less adapted to haviing his mei mei around. He can now listen better when we ask him to be gentle to the baby eventhough occasionally he will forgets about it.

I am glad that he loves his sister, hope that this will be forever.

Find Sharlene

It's me again!!!!Can you see where am I?

I am so tiny while sleeping next to my Daddy.

Sharlene has landed

Yes, for those who know how much i wanted the baby to be out during my last few weeks of pregnancy, she had finally decided to come out and meet the world on 16th Ocotber 2008. And guess what I survived with natural birth and the only pain relief i had was gas.

14th October
Contractions kicks in, which I still thought was normal stomachahe as I had been having stomache practically everyday and the interval in between was really fall apart.

15th October
I had a show in the morning,so happily thinking the baby will be out today. But after having few contractions and waiting for 1 whole day, nothing seems to happen. Another uneventful day for me.

10.30pm
Till around night time the pain was back again and each pain was getting more and more intense with 8-10mins apart. (Thanks for Anne's advice as while we were chatting in the afternoon she told me to time each contraction as the midwife will ask)

I couldn't sleep because of the pain, so i decided to continue with my hong kong drama series while the rest of them had gone to bed. (my mum, sean & hubby). The pain was getting nearer and nearer but was still bearable though.

16th October
2.30am
By 2.30am I can no longer sit down to enjoy my movie.I had to walk around the house every 5-10mins as each ontractions kicks in because it was getting more painful and by walking somehow i feel can ease the pain a little.

3.00am
Woke Jerry up, ask him if i should go to the hospital.

4.00am
"Shucks" The pain is too much for me. Decided to that the chance and leave for the hospital. With me almost dying with pain, my cute hubby can still drive slowly according to the speed limit on the road like 40-50km/per hr.

4.30am
Admitted to hospital, strapped me up on the CTG machine but strangely the contractions seems to dissappear. DUH!!I felt stupid as i have told the midwife that each contraction was about 5mins apart earlier and now she was standing there for almost 20mins looking at the CTG and waiting for me to prompt her when each pain kicks in but nothing seems to happen.

6.00am
She did a internal check on me and commented that i was 4cm dilated. She mentioned that i look cool and did well. Hell!!! i was in pain and freaking out inside! BUT to keep my pride intact, i continued to smile through her praises.

8.00am
Doc came to check, am 7cm dilated. He broke my water bag i felt faint already... I was offered the laughing gas as the first choice of pain relieve and i gladly accept it.I felt much better.

10.30am
Unbearable pain, needed stronger form of pain relief.Request for epidural. I think i need to poo, can;t bear any longer. Doctor came but it's too late to have epi by then because the baby is coming out anytime.I was in so much pain that i literally shouting "GIVE ME THE EPIDURAl", I don't want to push anymore.Tried few pushes, nothing happened, was ask to push harder again as the miidwife was saying only by me pushing the baby out then the pain will be gone. Only i can help myself now.So 1 more hard and long push, finally Sharlene has landed.

Ironically the pain gone immediately. The room was in total silent as all i can hear of was Sharlene screaming behind. I look at the clock it was few more minutes before lunch time. The midwife jokingly says the baby wants to come out for lunch..We had some bonding time with Sharlene in our arms while they deliver the placenta and stitched me up.

Overall it was really a new experience for me, finally get to understand and experience what it was like to give birth naturally. But the process and pain was scary though. Now that I had tried both ways of delivering, given a choice I will choose C-Section because you just don't feel any pain at all.But this is just a personal choice.

Cool Babe

This is me again, being a newborn and youngest at home,I will be the limelight for this period of time. So you will be seeing alot of me now.

As you can see, I am now sun baking in the ultra light for 1 night due to my jaundice level which is consider quite high. Mom thought i look pretty cool in the sun glasses.

Thanks for all your well wishes i am now fine at home already.

Singapore Day-Part 2

We had Caleb and his family and his Nai nai over to our house to play after the Singapore Day event. Of course i am the most happy one, since i get to play with Caleb. The adults enjoyed eating and chatting while we kids also enjoyed eating, watching cartoon and playing. Yeah!!!!We had nasi briyani for dinner which made by my wai po.

Singapore Day-Part 1

Yes i am a Singaporean, so i must support the Singapore Day event at Melbourne which was held on 4th October 08. We can really see alot of Singaporean there, which we didn't even realise there are so many of them here in Melbourne. Highlights include Pua Chu Kang show, Gurmit Singh and the rest of the casts are really here, some exhibitions on things related to Singapore culture and also the army lifestyle, and most importantly the Singaporean local food. That's why we are there for.The food fair was a huge variety which includes, satay, bak chor mee, bak kut teh, chilli crab, mee siam, laksa, fried kueh tiow and fried hokkien prawn noodle etc..... but the queue is a killer. You have to queue 1-2 hr just to get a small plate of food because is free. Mummy would rather that they have to pay for it at least we can buy more of it rather than requeue again to get another portion. Because the crowd was too scary, whenever the food came, we just ate it all up forgetting to take any pictures of it. So all you can see is just the pictures of Singaporean queueing up everywhere. We didn't get to eat all the food there because after a while we are simply too tired and lazy to queue for it anymore. Lastly before we left we managed to get quite a few freebies which consist of Singapore famous kaya, Singapore brand instant noodle Myojo and some other stuff mostly Singapore products. This shows that we are truly the Singaporeans.

Wanna know what we did so far

I enjoy doing art despite the fact that mummy says i have got no talent in it. Look i have been doing my favourite Ninja mask, and finger painting which mummy taught me from a book that she borrow from the library. It's so easy, first you got to paint some colors on your fingers/palms, then all you need to do is just stamp in on a piece of paper.

Another activity that i enjoy is sticker pasting, i have got this book which you need to find the relevant stickers and stick it on the correct page and numbers.Eg :animals should be in a farm. Mummy thought it was a good activity which i can practice my cognitive skill as well as counting.
